Good to know

From 2009 Coretex Thermowool is used as an insulation between logs.

Thermowool replaces old insulation materials - glasswool for round logs and linenwool for square logs.

10 good reasons for choosing the renewed PP-TERMO building joint strip:
1. Heat insulation capacity
The new thermofibre structure binds air efficiently, which gives it an excellent heat insulation capacity (0.033W/mK).
2. Air-tightness and permeability
Thanks to the new tighter structure, the strip meets international tightness requirements; when installed correctly, the air permeability of the strip is less than 0.05 (m³/msPa), but the structure still retains its breathing ability.
3. Moisture repellent (non-moisture absorbing)
The special treatment of the fibre makes the strip highly moisture repellent (no additional seals needed in applications subjected to inclined rainfall or runoff water). PP-TERMO has excellent moisture transfer capacity, and it transfers vapour and gases while keeping the insulation material dry. No vapour barrier is needed in the structure when PP-TERMO is used.
4. Universal
PP-TERMO is suited to different kinds of structures and buildings: prefabricated houses, log houses, stone houses, industrial buildings, and other applications where joint seals are used.
5. Fire safety
PP-TERMO meets international ISO 11925-2 fire safety requirements.
6. Non-toxic and dust-free
PP-TERMO in non-allergenic, and in fact the only building strip that carries the cooperation symbol of the Finnish Allergy and Asthma Association. The product also has maximum international indoor air classification M1.
7. Non-rotting
PP-TERMO provides no growth medium for mould or micro-organisms.
8. Elastic, light and quick to install
PP-TERMO is a highly elastic and flexible material that adapts to the movements of the structures and retains its properties for several decades in varying weather conditions. PP-Termo is delivered cut to size and shape, which ensures quick and easy installation.
9. Unattractive to microbes
PP-TERMO building joint strip does not attract microbes or insects.
10. Safe, tested, Finnish
Used successfully as a building material for decades. The product is developed in close cooperation with prefabricated house factories and VTT. PP-TERMO is a Finnish Key Flag product at its best.
