Log house maintenance

Log house needs maintenance just like any other wooden house. From long ago we know that the particularity of log house construction is its settlement or "sitting" within 2 years. To keep the house in good condition and to have the house looking good over many years following regulation works have to be done by You:

  • vertically standing pillars have to be lowered by using regulating bolts until the log wall leaning on pillars is horizontally level
  • the logs which are leaning on the brick wall have to be lowered by using regulating bolts until the log wall leaning on brick wall is horizontally level.
  • screwbars in the log walls have to be tight. Screwbars have to be tightened strongly but do not brake them!

The above mentioned regulating works have to be carried out in following order:

  • first month after the house is finished - once a week
  • second month after the house is finished - every second week
  • from third month - when needed

MOST IMPORTANT: Vertically supported walls have to be horizontally level and screwbars have to be tight!

Regulating works do not pertain under factory guarantee. These works have to be done by the owner of the house.

Regulating of doors and windows is necessary, but does not pertain under factory guarantee.
By settlement of the house some doors and windows may move from its original position and therefore it is difficult or impossible to open or close them. Together with doors and windows we supply regulating wrench which can be used to fix troubled doors/windows. If You can not carry out this work by Yourself, please order a specialist to do it. You can always contact Your reseller for advise.

This guarantee is valid if the Customer, additionally to above mentioned works, treats the house with special timber treatment TWICE during guarantee time of 5 years.
